Reset: 1993

A story about regret, a second chance, and how knowledge can become a weapon against fate.

The novel comes first. The soundtrack follows the story.

The Premise

What if you could go back?

Jonathan “Nathan” Mandagi is 37, exhausted, and trapped inside a life shaped by regret. On the night he revisits his mother's belongings, a small music box brings the past back into the room—and becomes the trigger for something impossible.

Nathan dies with one last wish: not for wealth or power, but for another chance to hear that song with his mother. Instead of disappearing, his consciousness is pulled back through the melody and wakes inside his five-year-old body in 1993, memories of the future intact.

His mission becomes simple to say and almost impossible to execute: save his mother, change his family's trajectory, and build enough power to keep that second chance from collapsing.

The Story Engine

Three forces drive the reset.

Regret

Nathan's original life is defined by what he failed to do—especially the time he lost with his mother. The regression begins from that emotional wound.

Family

The second life is not primarily about becoming rich. Nathan's central mission is to protect his mother and change the fate of a family that once lived under constant financial pressure.

Knowledge

Nathan returns with memories of economic events and a future timeline. Knowledge becomes his hidden advantage—and the foundation of the financial strategy he builds through trusted adult allies.

Fate

Every successful intervention creates another question: can the future really be rewritten, or does changing one event simply create another version of the same trap?

The Emotional Core

“God... give me one more chance... not to become rich, not to become great... just to hear this song one more time... with her.”

The music-box melody is the story's emotional and supernatural anchor.

Resolution

The current master data outlines recovery, reconciliation, a final meeting with Tama, and a dual-ending setup for a possible sequel.

The Team

The people behind the second life.

Diana Maheswari — Nathan's first major adult ally, manager, and public-facing executor.

Sandro Wicaksono — the strategic partner who translates Nathan's unusual knowledge into financial models, investments, and larger deals.

They are not simply business characters. They are the adults who make it possible for a child with an adult mind to turn impossible knowledge into real-world action.

The Soundtrack

Skenario Kedua

Opening soundtrack draft · In development

The opening song frames the project through Nathan's own perspective: waking inside a life that feels familiar, knowing the ending before the new story has even begun, and choosing to rewrite it.

The soundtrack remains intentionally secondary to the novel while the story itself is still being developed.

Status

A long-term project by design.

Reset: 1993 is intentionally being developed alongside the novel. The soundtrack is being kept in reserve while the book's story and structure take shape.
