Where Indonesian Voices Meet Caribbean Rhythms

The Concept: "Sedih Tapi Goyang"
This project explores Indonesia's linguistic diversity through an unexpected lens: Caribbean rhythmic traditions. It’s not just about mixing genres; it’s about creating a new subgenre. The core philosophy is "sedih tapi goyang" — melancholic storytelling wrapped in rhythms that make your body move.

Why This Fusion?

Indonesia has thousands of regional languages rarely heard globally. Caribbean rhythms (reggae’s skank, dembow’s bounce) are universally understood. By pairing them, I'm making local stories accessible to global ears while honoring both traditions.

The Musical DNA

Linguistic Anchor (The Blend): A fusion of dialects familiar to the mainstream (like Javanese or Sundanese) with unique, less-heard regional voices. A sonic bridge connecting the known with the undiscovered.
